Jetstar delivers Perth new low fare flying & Tourism WA partnership

  • Direct Brisbane and Gold Coast services on sale from $99 one way at Jetstar.com

Low fares leader Jetstar will grow its value domestic low fare offering in the Perth market by over 60 per cent with first-time Jetstar daily A320 services between Perth-Brisbane and Perth-Gold Coast.

Its daily services to Brisbane commence 10 December 2010 and an innovative direct Gold Coast daily flight from 4 April 2011.

Jetstar will expand its Perth-Melbourne (rising from 14 to 18 times weekly) and Perth-Sydney (7 to 11 times weekly) markets, each adding four extra return weekly services and 7300 extra weekly seats.

Jetstar today launched its new exciting routes with one-way sale fares to Brisbane and the Gold Coast starting from $99# (JetSaver Light**) at Jetstar.com. (#Terms and Conditions apply).

Jetstar Group Chief Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan and West Australian Tourism Minister Dr Liz Constable MP jointly announced this growth supported by a landmark multi-million dollar, three year cooperative marketing deal forged between Jetstar and Tourism Western Australia.

“This is a significant and exciting partnership in growth between Tourism WA and Jetstar. It will facilitate cooperative marketing and campaigns that will work in converting consumer interest in travelling to Western Australia, both within Australia and beyond, into a holiday travel booking,” Mr Buchanan said.

“By better linking Perth through more low fares and new choice in destinations Jetstar’s flying hubs in South East Queensland can deliver more visitor access into WA from key customer markets. Low fare access for Perth residents on flights directly into South East Queensland and the eastern states has never been easier as a result of Jetstar’s ever growing flight network.”

By early 2011 Jetstar’s domestic operations in Perth will rise up to 54 weekly return frequencies serving six point to point Australian destinations, over and above its low fare international flying.

Jetstar’s every day fares start from $199 Perth- Gold Coast and Perth-Brisbane (JetSaver Light**), up to 30 per cent lower than current competitors’ fares operating on the same or similar routes.

“Jetstar’s value-for-money fares from Perth are backed up by our Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee* whereby we will beat our competitors by 10 per cent,” Mr Buchanan said.

“Our low fares are combined with award-winning customer service, further strengthened by the launch of our Jetstar Customer Guarantee earlier this year in a first for the aviation industry in this region.

Tourism Minister Dr Liz Constable said Jetstar’s Perth growth would bring an estimated $117 million in tourism revenue to Western Australia over the next three years.

“We anticipate an additional 120,000 visitors will come to experience extraordinary Western Australia over the three years as a result of this agreement,” Dr Constable said.
