Jetstar bags three awards from Singapore's Changi Airport

Low fares leader Jetstar received three awards at the sixth Changi Airline Awards 2011 in Singapore on Monday evening, 18 July.

The annual awards ceremony recognises the achievements of airlines operating from Singapore’s Changi Airport, based on passenger figures.

The awards are:

  • Largest Growth in Passenger Traffic (Singapore) – Jetstar Asia
  • Largest Growth in Passenger Traffic (Southwest Pacific) – Jetstar Airways
  • Top 10 Airline in Passenger Carriage – Jetstar Asia (ranked fourth)

Singapore based Jetstar Asia topped Changi’s honour roll as the airline with the largest growth out from Singapore, carrying over 2 million passengers in 2010 – an increase of 53 per cent from the previous year and leading ahead of last year’s winner, Tiger Airways.

Australia based Jetstar Airways took the honours for the second consecutive year, for largest growth out from Southwest Pacific. Passenger numbers exceeded 360,000 in 2010, translating to a 12 per cent growth compared to the previous year.
