Jetstar Asia to launch first direct flights from Singapore to Guiyang

Jetstar Asia has announced a new international link from Singapore to Southwest China with direct flights from Guiyang on sale from today.

From 14 December, Jetstar Asia will operate two services per week from Singapore to Guiyang, opening up direct access to one of China’s most beautiful provinces.

Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, is home to a population of 4.6 million and is a popular tourist destination known for its subtropical climate and stunning natural landscapes. Home to three natural heritage sites including the largest waterfall in Asia and two of the largest limestone caves in China, Guiyang is also renowned for its many minority ethnic groups in China.

Jetstar Asia CEO Bara Pasupathi said that the launch of the new route would not only give more travellers in Singapore access to low fares but at the same time, save them travel time between Singapore and Guiyang.

“Jetstar Asia is proud to launch direct services from Singapore to the beautiful city of Guiyang, reducing the total travel time by half to just four hours,” Mr Pasupathi said.

“This demonstrates our commitment to our passengers in not only making air travel more accessible but introducing new initiatives that will maximise our passengers’ holiday experience. As the railway hub of Southwest China, travellers to Guiyang will not only have direct access to one of the most beautiful but previously more remote sites in China but will be instantly connected to North, East and South China via rail at the same time,” Mr Pasupathi added.

Previously, travellers from Singapore would take eight hours and at least one stopover in another Chinese city before arriving at Guiyang.

To celebrate the new flights, Jetstar Asia will introduce a special sale for its first two flights from Singapore to Guiyang. Fares are available for purchase from Singapore from today. Travellers will be able to purchase a limited number of tickets at SGD160* at Jetstar.com.

The new services will be operated by Jetstar Asia’s 180-seat Airbus A320.

One-way Economy Starter fares* from Singapore start from SGD700.

Jetstar currently operates more than 80 weekly flights to six destinations in China –Shantou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
